UIDAI CEO Ajay Bhushan Pandey Appointed as New Revenue Secretary
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet appointed Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) CEO Ajay Bhushan Pandey as the new revenue secretary. He will succeed current Finance & Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia.


8th National Conference of Women in Police begins in Ranchi

WCD Ministry nominates 3 new members of National Commission for Women
Ministry of Woman and Child Development (WCD) has nominated three members to National Commission for Women (NCW) in pursuance Section 3 of the NCW Act 1990. They are Chandramukhi Devi, Soso Shaiza & Kamlesh Gautam. All three are BJP members.

India’s Lakshya Sen won a bronze medal in the BWF World junior badminton championship at Markham, Canada. He was defeated by Thailand’s Vitidsarn. Lakshya Sen, the 17-year-old from Almora.


India’s first specialized hospital for elephants opens in Mathura
India’s first specialized hospital for elephants was opened by Agra Divisional Commissioner Anil Kumar at Farah block’s Churmura village, Mathura. It is promoted by Wildlife SOS which had established first elephant conservation and care centre in 2010.


Brigadier Kuldip Singh Chandpuri passes away
Decorated war veteran Brigadier Kuldip Singh Chandpuri passed away in a private hospital in Mohali, Punjab. He was 78. Chandpuri, who was an Army Major during the 1971 India-Pakistan war, had held his post through the night in the famous battle of Longewala in Rajasthan with just 120 men against a full-fledged attack by advancing Pakistani Patton tanks.
