New Delhi: Instant messaging app WhatsApp will soon change our banking transaction mode if the new feature becomes a reality.
As per a blog in the WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is testing a new feature wherein it will allow users to make bank to bank transfers using UPI.
The blog further stated that the feature has been spotted in the beta version of the Android app. WhatsApp for Android 2.17.285 beta comes with a hidden page in the app for the payment feature, the blog said.

Launched by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and regulated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), UPI facilitates the instant fund transfer between two bank accounts on the mobile platform.
With over 200 million monthly active users (MAUs), WhatsApp has been in the news for working towards a UPI-based interface in its platform.
According to media reports, WhatsApp is already in talks with the NPCI and a few banks to facilitate financial transactions via UPI.
WhatsApp currently supports 60 languages and has rapidly expanded its global user base by being easy to use, free, and sporting features lacking in traditional SMS.
